We were wondering when we were going to finally find the version of New Zealand you see in films or on television, well it turns out that was today.
After a scenic drive out to Taupo, we took a trip up Waikato River (where Jo nearly fell in) to see Huka Falls. We also got to see the Aratiatia dam open and create the Aratiatia Rapids out of a previously empty canyon. For the full. Oh and strangely there was also a plane in a macdonalds car park, so that’s a thing that happened too.
