How to make Chocolate Afghans | Cooking

When Paddy’s away, Jo will play!! I’ve got time on my hands and a new kitchen at my disposal, so thought i’d try my hand at some Kiwi cooking. Chocolate Afghans are super crunchy chocolate biscuits, no need for any expensive equipment, all made with a wooden spoon and some good old fashioned elbow grease. Try them for yourselves following the recipe below:

200g softened butter/margarine
1/2 cup caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 1/4 cups plain flour
1/4 cup cocoa
1 1/2 cups cornflakes

Chocolate and coconut to top (optional)

Preheat oven to 180 oC
Beat butter, sugar and vanilla until fluffy
Sift in flour and cocoa, combine
Mix in cornflakes
Line baking try
Form small balls of dough
Flatten with fork
Bake for 15-20 minutes
Melt chocolate
Dip biscuits in chocolate then coconut
Stuff your face!!!
