I am taking advantage of doing a daily video to do a bit of a public service announcement.
Yesterday there was a fire at the scanning office of the Internet Archive, extremly sad because the office had the
best recliners brand new (http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Internet-Archive-s-S-F-office-damaged-in-fire-4960703.php) and a whole pile of thier equiptment has now been destroyed.
Now if you have not heard of the Internet Archive, you may well have used it without realising. They are the people behind the waybackmachine that lets you see previous verisons of websites – you can find out more here https://archive.org/about/
Why am I bringing it up is there is now a crowdfunding effort to help rebuild the equipment so that their work can continue. Now as they do this good work as a not for profit organisation I really think that even if you can’t chip in yourself you can at least let others know about it
